RecordGuard Support

RecordGuard is a Mac menu-bar utility that creates local backup audio tracks while you record with your normal recorder.

For bug reports or setup questions, please include your macOS version, Mac model, recording app, microphone route, and what you expected to happen.

Feature requests, bug reports, and workflow feedback are welcome by email.

If possible, include:

what you were recording with, such as QuickTime, OBS, Loom, Zoom, or ScreenFlow;
what you expected RecordGuard to do;
what happened;
whether system.m4a worked;
whether microphone.m4a worked;
the Result Audit text, if available.

Please do not send sensitive audio recordings unless specifically requested.

RecordGuard needs two macOS permissions:

If audio is missing, open RecordGuard's setup check and confirm both permissions are enabled in macOS System Settings.

Each run saves local files on your Mac:

RecordGuard does not upload these files.

Use RecordGuard with ordinary, non-sensitive content first to confirm that your Mac, microphone, and recording route behave as expected.

RecordGuard is not a screen recorder, is not designed for hidden recording, and does not guarantee recovery of every failed recording.
